A Electrocardiographic Study on the Atrial Fibrillation

Abstract

|
A study on the atrial fibrillation was made on 169 case diagnosed by surface electrocardiographic examination. The results were as follows ; l. Atrial fibrillation were observed in 169 case of the 5,651 patients and the incidence of atrial fibrillation was 3.0％. 2. Sex distribution showed no significant difference and the age of most patients was over fifth decade(82.2％). 3. The average rates of ventricular response to atrial fibrillation were variable with normal range(61 -100/min) in 62.7％, tachycardia(over 101/min) in 29.0％ and bradycardia(under 60/min) in 8.3％. 4. Associated electrocardiographic finding of atrial fibrillation were ventricular premature beat(18.9％), left ventricular hypertrophy(17.8％), right ventricular hypertrophy(6.5％) in the order of frequency. 37.8％ of the patients showed only atrial fibrillation without any other associated findings on EGG.
